Do you know of other information that should be considered or have comments
concerning the Jordan River Parkway Trail? #1: 2004-10-27 1.
I have concerns about users crossing 39th South, I
have seen some close calls with children trying to dodge traffic. There needs
to be some safety measures installed there before some one is killed. 2.
Isn't there something about a 30 ft. meander easement where govt. can control
the use of the property along the river? #2: 2004-10-27 The
path north of 1000 North now has some Olympic stations that are attractive to
hikers. Paving this section will allow use of those. #4: 2004-10-29 The
remaining projects are large problems (Bluffdale -
use of a canal ROW is essential)or difficult and
expensive to resolve (Railroads south of #5: 2004-10-29 The
trail goes through a golf course between 10th North and #6: 2004-10-30 A
great project. Please continue. I consider acquiring right of way a lot more
important than paving. #7: 2004-11-01 signage on the Jordan River Golf Course needed to indicate that
the trail continues through the golf course. The
Parkway is a wonderful concept, and the present actuality is a joy. I look forward
to further enhancements and would cheerfully volunteer for cleanups, etc. #8: 2004-11-01 PLEASE
MAKE SURE TO REPAVE IN TIMELY MANNER, SOME SECTIONS
ARE JUST TOO BUMPY (FROM TREE ROOTS?) #9: 2004-11-02 I
would like to see Jordan River Cleaning Days, one in spring and another one
in fall. The day(s) could be advertised in the newspapers in order to get
volunteers. #10: 2004-11-03 I
use the Parkway over 150 times a year.It is a
wonderful place for me to run and bike. If 8500 South to 11400 South could be
connected, that would really give me more options than anything else. Women I
know who use the trail won't go past 4800 South to the north due to safety
concerns and I don't feel safe going North past 3900 South due to the heavy
influx of homeless persons and homosexual activity. Last year, I logged over
400 miles running on it about a third of my total. #12: 2004-11-03 This
could be the most pristine 'healthy activity' in the state and/or nation.
People talk about seeing autumn leaves back east but what about a riverside
walk or jog or bike ride or canoe ride from one end of the Great Salt Lake
Valley to the other, by the river in the autumn, summer or winter?! Sweet! Do
it! Love it! #13: 2004-11-03 There
is no need for a trail on both sides of the river from 11400 S. to 11800 S. A
high priority should be given to one of these and the other concept
abandoned. The
County will fix the washout of the trail soon anyway, so it should be given a
low priority. The
trail doesn't need to be paved everywhere, so sections that are incomplete
should be given a high priority and sections that are constructed, but not
paved should be given a low priority. If
Overall,
more of the trail areas should be kept or converted to a natural state. #14: 2004-11-03 because there is an extensive trail system in Utah Co, I feel
that it is important to continue from the south, northward to optimize the
continuous sections. Also, growth in the south valley is tremendous. #17: 2004-11-04 Question
