The Utah Intergovernmental Roundtable (UIR) was formed to provide a forum for federal, state and local governments, indian tribes, school districts, and special districts to discuss issues of common concern and address cooperative solutions to those issues.
Several years ago, the State Legislature decided to eliminate the Utah Advisory Council on Intergovernmental Relations (UACIR). At the time, legislators believed that they could no longer afford the costs of this organization. Several UACIR members came together to form UIR under the direction of, and staffed by the Center for Public Policy and Administration at the University of Utah.
GOPB provided the staff for UACIR. GOPB was asked to continue participating in this new organization.
