I. Approval of Minutes

Bill Schlotthauer called the meeting to order at 9:05 a.m. Pam Grubaugh-Littig made a motion to approve the March 13 minutes at submitted. Mike Canning seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

II. Discussion of MOUs

GOPB would like to have all the MOUs completed by the end of April so the Governor can sign them all at once.

A copy of the existing MOU with the BLM was distributed to RDCC members present for their review.

III. Anticipated Projects and Information

• A land acquisition item was submitted to RDCC for review for approximately 180 acres of property in Iron County for Utah Prairie Dog Habitat. There were questions of "no net gain," and an appropriate management plan by UDWR. The option expires 5/11/01, so comments need to be submitted as soon as possible.

• The Legislature passed an initiative to provide $400,000 for water quality from an agricultural standpoint for nonpoint source pollution areas. These funds will be coupled with EPA and NRCS funds to provide grant assistance to those identified water quality problems. Currently, the Department of Agriculture, in conjunction with the Farm Bureau, is doing an inventory of identifying priority projects.

• The National Park Service is working toward releasing a General Management Plan for Capitol Reef National Park.

• A Nationwide EIS is planned regarding personal watercraft use in National Parks and National Recreation Areas.
