Governor to Alert Citizens to Prepare for Flooding

SALT LAKE CITY – Governor Gary R. Herbert will host a press conference with state officials about the possible dangers of flooding, as well as preparation efforts, tomorrow, Friday, May 6, in the Emergency Operations Center located in the State Office Building on the Capitol Campus.
WHAT: Governor Gary R Herbert will hold a press conference to address current flood advisories, provide a plan of action, and alert Utah citizens on how to best prepare for possible flooding in their areas.

State staff will escort media representatives from the doors to the State Office Building’s main entrance, downstairs to the 1st floor entrance, and then to the EOC. The State Office Building is directly north of the Capitol, on the opposite site of the plaza.
Governor Gary Herbert, Lieutenant Governor Greg Bell, Department of Public Safety Commissioner Lance Davenport, Ryan Longman (BeReadyUtah), Brian McInerney, (hydrologist for the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City) and various public health and safety leaders.
