Governor Orders Flags Lowered

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Governor Gary R. Herbert has authorized the lowering of the Flag of the United States of America and the Flag of the State of Utah on Wednesday, December 7, 2011, in recognition of the 70th anniversary of the attacks on Pearl Harbor. The flags shall be flown at half-staff on all state facilities from sunrise to sunset on December 7 only.
“Today, with the entire State of Utah, I honor those fallen and wounded in the tragic attack on Pearl Harbor 70 years ago. We also honor the ongoing service and sacrifice of our Veterans and our active duty military personnel. We are ever grateful and offer our deepest appreciation for their willingness to put themselves in harm’s way to protect our freedoms, our families and our homeland,” said the Governor.
