Governor and Prosperity 2020 will Announce “Business Promise” School Volunteer Program

WHAT: Governor Gary R. Herbert will join Prosperity 2020 to announce the new Business Promise portal. The portal will work to connect 20,200 volunteers in Utah classrooms. The Governor and other business leaders will take part in a reading exercise with second graders and be available for media interviews regarding Prosperity 2020 Business Promise.
WHY: The Governor has emphasized that an educated workforce is critical for a prosperous economy. This begins by improving Utah’s educational outcomes by helping children learn reading, math and other critical skills. In order to achieve this, volunteers are needed.
