Governor Awards Top AP High School in the State Awards School with Traveling Trophy and Serves Students School Lunch

WHAT:      Governor Gary R. Herbert will join members of his Education Excellence Commission and Prosperity 2020, to award Park City High School as the Top Advanced Placement (AP) High School in Utah. To determine which Utah high school had the highest ranking a newly devised formula was used: percent of students enrolled multiplied by the passing rate. The Governor will award the Park City High School student body a traveling trophy. Also during his visit, the Governor will serve school lunch to students as part of the award.
WHY:           The AP program plays an integral role in helping students transition to post-secondary education. This has become a major focus for the Governor’s Education Excellence Commission in reaching the goal of 66 percent of Utah adults having a post-secondary degree by 2020.
