Governor Orders Flags Lowered

SALT LAKE CITY – Governor Gary R. Herbert has authorized the lowering of the Flag of the United States of America and the Flag of the State of Utah on Friday, December 7, 2012, in recognition of National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. The flags shall be flown at half-staff on all state facilities from sunrise to sunset on December 7 only.

Governor Herbert issued the following statement:

The State of Utah honors those fallen or injured in the attack on Pearl Harbor 71 years ago. Today we celebrate their dedication to country and to liberty. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to every noble man and woman currently serving, and all of our dedicated Veterans. We are ever grateful for the sacrifice of our nation’s bravest sons and daughters.
