Governor Appoints Jeffrey C. Wilcox to the Fifth Judicial District

SALT LAKE CITY – Governor Gary R. Herbert has appointed Jeffrey C. Wilcox, Esq. to fill a vacancy on the Fifth District Court bench, which hears cases originating in Beaver, Iron and Washington Counties.
“Jeff has a well-deserved reputation as a litigator who possesses both outstanding skills and unquestioned integrity.  His wide breadth of practice areas will make him an asset to the bench” said Governor Herbert. “He has demonstrated a commitment to serving the people of Utah with his practice and will now do so as a judge.”
 “I am truly humbled by the invitation to serve on the court,” said Wilcox. “It’s a great opportunity to serve the community I love.”
Wilcox joined the St. George, Utah based Gallian, Wilcox, Welker, Olson & Beckstrom, L.C., in 1984 shortly after being admitted to the Utah Bar. Wilcox has practiced in many areas including general litigation, real estate, banking, commercial, corporate, partnership, business, personal injury, insurance defense, construction law, and adoption.

Wilcox earned his law degree from J. Reuben Clark Law School, J.D., cum laude in 1984 at Brigham Young University, which included a summer law program at Cambridge, England. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business Administration from the University of Minnesota in 1980.
