Governor to Host Second Annual Energy Development Summit
Governor to be joined by Utah’s Congressional Delegation, industry leaders & other energy stakeholders for two-day event at the Salt Palace Convention Center

Who: Utah’s top elected officials, energy industry representatives, state and federal agencies, local and national organizations, academics, and students interested in the advancement of Utah’s Energy Future.  Notable speakers include:
o    Governor Gary R. Herbert
o    Lieutenant Governor Greg Bell
o    Senator Orrin Hatch
o    Senator Mike Lee
o    Representatives Rob Bishop, Jason Chaffetz, and Chris Stewart

When: Thursday, January 10 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
o    Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Utah’s Congressional Delegation speak during Luncheon Plenary, 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
o    Office of Energy Development Director, Samantha Mary Julian, available for questions, 8:45 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.
o    Resource experts in the areas of oil shale and oil sands, nuclear energy, coal, oil & gas, renewable energy, or energy efficiency available upon request, 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.  

Where: The Salt Palace Convention Center, 100 S. West Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah
Summit to be held in Halls 1 & 2, and Room 155, on the first floor of the Salt Palace.

Relevance: The Governor’s Energy Development Summit is an opportunity to examine key issues in the ever-changing energy sector and to help attendees better understand the significant value energy adds to Utah’s world-class economy.  The Summit is the most important energy forum in the Intermountain West.
