Lone Peak High School Basketball Team to Visit Utah’s Capitol Hill

The team will be recognized by the Legislature and shoot hoops with the Governor

What:    Governor Gary R. Herbert and the Utah State Legislature will welcome the Lone Peak high school men’s basketball team to the Capitol to honor them for a phenomenal season. After being recognized by the House of Representatives and Senate, the team will join Governor Herbert for a photo in the Gold Room before a casual shoot around with the Governor.

Why:      The Lone Peak basketball team is going down in the history books as one of the best high school basketball teams in Utah. The team just recently won the 5A State Championship, and is representing Utah as the no.1 ranking high school team in the nation.

        11:00 AM    Honored by the House in the house chamber
        11:30 AM    Honored by the Senate in the senate chamber
        12:00 PM    Meet the Governor in the Gold Room for the declaration signing and then move to the Rotunda to play basketball.
