Governor Names Cragun Director of Human Resource Management

“Debbie Cragun’s recognized leadership, expertise and wealth of experience in the Department of Human Resource Management make her ideally suited and uniquely qualified,” said the Governor. “As someone who started at ground level and worked through the ranks with talent and drive, Debbie epitomizes the dedicated public servant who has built a meaningful career with the State of Utah. With her ability to build relationships and empower employees to succeed, I have every confidence that she will do an outstanding job.”

Cragun joined the Department of Human Resources in 1995. Previous to the appointment she served as human resource director from 2006 to 2013 and human resource specialist from 2002 to 2006. She started her career as human resource analyst and technician.
Cragun was the recipient of both The Governor’s Award for Excellence in Leadership and the Department of Human Resource Management’s Award for Leadership in 2008. She received her Senior Professional in Human Resources certification from the Society for Human Resource Management. In addition, she earned her Master of Arts degree in Organizational Management and a Bachelors of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.
