Governor and Staff Volunteer at the Utah Food Bank

WHAT: Governor Gary R. Herbert’s will assist in kicking off the Utah Food Bank’s holiday food drive by pulling his staff out of the office and volunteering to help sort food.
WHY: The Utah Food Bank’s goal for this year’s Holiday Food & Fund Drive is to provide 12 million additional meals through donations of food and funds. With the holiday
season fast approaching, and with the many additional people in need of assistance due to the government shutdown, the Governor and staff will be kicking off this year’s
season of much-needed giving.

- Last year Utah Food Bank utilized more than 20,000 volunteers to make it through the holiday season, and anticipates needing that many volunteers, if not more, this year.
- The Holiday Food and Fund Drive is running now through January 15.
