Gov. Herbert testifies before House Committee on Natural Resources
September 30, 2015
Gov. Gary R. Herbert and three other western governors called on the federal government to treat states as equal partners during a testimony to the U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources Wednesday.
“States are better positioned to understand their own unique resources, geography and population needs than the federal government and are better positioned to bring all the parties together to find mutually agreeable and durable solutions,” Gov. Herbert said.
Western governors Gov. Matt Mead of Wyoming, Gov. Steve Bullock of Montana and Gov. Dennis Daugaard of South Dakota also gave testimonies. The House Committee on Natural Resources is chaired by Rep. Rob Bishop of Utah’s 1st Congressional District.
