Gov. Cox orders flags to be lowered in honor of the life and legacy of Sen. Harry Reid

SALT LAKE CITY (Jan.12, 2022) – Utah Gov. Spencer J. Cox has ordered the lowering of the flag of the United States of America and the flag of the state of Utah on all state facilities in recognition of Sen. Harry Reid’s interment.

The day of interment is scheduled for tomorrow, Jan. 13, 2022. Therefore, the flag will be lowered to half-staff beginning at midnight tonight and return to full staff at sunset on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022.

SALT LAKE CITY (Dec. 29, 2021) – Utah Gov. Spencer J. Cox has ordered that the flag of the United States of America and the flag of the state of Utah be lowered on all state facilities in recognition of the life and legacy of Sen. Harry Reid.

Flags should now be lowered to the half-staff position on the day of Sen. Reid’s interment, which will be confirmed at a later date with an accompanying announcement from the Governor’s Office. Private citizens and businesses are encouraged to participate as well.
