SALT LAKE CITY (July 15, 2021) — Gov. Spencer J. Cox has appointed Jennifer Fresques to serve as commissioner on the Utah State Tax Commission. The governor’s nominations are subject to confirmation by the Utah Senate.
“Jennifer brings a wealth of experience to the Utah State Tax Commission,” said Gov. Cox. “I appreciate her willingness to serve the people of Utah in this new capacity.”
Fresques currently serves as a commercial appraisal manager in the Salt Lake County Assessor’s Office, where she has held several positions since 2008. Prior to her current position, she served as a commercial quality coordinator and she worked previously as a commercial sales analyst and as a commercial ad valorem appraiser.
Fresques graduated with honors with a bachelor of science in business and accounting from the University of Phoenix. She has completed the National Association of County’s Professional Development Academy, Salt Lake County Management certificate and Salt Lake County’s Supervisor Credit program.
“We are excited to have Jennifer join us as a commissioner at the Utah State Tax Commission,” said Tax Commission Chair John Valentine. “We are impressed with her experience and her outlook for the future of the commission.”
