Highlights include:
- We’re issuing a drought state of emergency effective today. This emergency order will allow the state to use any and all state resources we need to cope with the drought. The Department of Public Safety, Department of Natural Resources and Department of Agriculture and Food will coordinate aid, assistance and relief.
- With record-low unemployment and strong job growth, it’s undeniable that Utah’s economy is booming. In fact, this week the Rich States, Poor States study ranked Utah #1 for the best economic outlook in the nation … for the 15th year in a row. But with inflation this high, Utahns are really feeling the pinch, especially at the gas pump. As of yesterday, gas in Utah cost $4.48 per gallon compared to the national average of $4.14. We’ve asked our team to explore any and all ideas that could provide Utahns some relief.
