Shelly Smith was born and raised in Ogden, Utah, and is the mother of two adult sons: Dallas and Ky. After raising her family, Smith attended Weber State University and received a business certificate from Ogden-Weber Applied Technology College. She re-entered the workforce in 2014 and developed a passion for development and fundraising for nonprofit organizations, establishing her current career in that sector.
Smith enjoys engaging with her local community and has served in a variety of leadership roles in various organizations including the National Parent Teacher Association, Community Council, Ogden Breakfast Exchange Club, Ogden-Weber Chamber of Commerce, Davis Chamber of Commerce and Ogden Rotary Club.
In her spare time, Smith is passionate about running and loves competing in marathons and ultra marathons. She also enjoys the outdoors, hiking, mountain biking along Utah’s scenic trails, practicing yoga and reading. She is an avid sports fan and enjoys watching college football and traveling to watch her son play collegiate baseball.
