Correspondence: Declarations and Letters

  • Request a Declaration
Declarations are non-binding documents signed by the Governor of Utah in recognition of special events or significant issues. The Governor’s Office reserves the right to decline a request that does not have support from a Utah sponsor. Previously-issued declarations are not automatically issued each year. The Office of the Governor give sufficient consideration to all requests, our protocol is put in place to protect the reputation of the office. The office requires six weeks notice for declaration requests. The director of correspondence/Office of the Governor reserves the right to edit proposed text and decline declaration requests. The approval or denial of a declaration request does not indicate or imply Gov. Cox’s endorsement or disapprobation of any given issue, organization, cause, or initiative.
