Some highlights from this briefing include:

  • We’ve administered 1,232,991 doses of the coronavirus vaccine.
  • Gov. Cox and First Lady Abby Palmer Cox got their first vaccine!
  • Under H.B. 294, which is now law, the mask requirement stays in place for K-12 schools until July.
  • FEMA will launch a program next month aimed at helping ease some of the financial stress and burden caused by the virus. Under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, FEMA will provide financial assistance for COVID-19-related funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020.
  • We’ve authorized 2 hours of administrative leave for all state employees who schedule and receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
