Gov. Cox issues new executive order, establishes effective oversight over state agency rulemaking

SALT LAKE CITY (May 6, 2021) — Gov. Spencer Cox has issued a new order redefining administrative rules. The Office of Administrative Rules will review each rule submitted for publication to ensure the drafting and formatting is consistent with the current edition of the Office of Administrative Rules’ Rulewriting Manual for Utah.  This is currently performed by the Governor’s Office.

SALT LAKE CITY (May 3, 2021) — In response to ongoing concerns about extremely dry conditions, Gov. Spencer J. Gov. Spencer Cox declares state of emergency in anticipation of weekend protests

SALT LAKE CITY (Jan. 15, 2021) — Utah Gov. Spencer Cox declared a state of emergency ahead of potential protests at the Utah State Capitol this weekend. The precaution comes after the siege of the U.S. Capitol that occurred on Jan. 6, 2021 in Washington, D.C., which resulted in five deaths including a U.S. Capitol Police Officer Brian D. Sicknick
